It's time to get the team together!

Some things are just better together. So, get the squad together and commit to the 2024 Sydney Marathon on 15 September. This once-a-year chance to run over the Sydney Harbour Bridge, with a glorious finish at the Opera House for marathoners, allows team members to choose any of the 3 distances whilst still being part of the same team.

How does running in a team benefit me? 

  • FREE entry is granted to a team captain of teams with 10 or more members 
  • Teams with 20 or more members can request bulk kit collection.

Team FAQs

  • Is there a minimum/maximum number of participants in a team? 

    The minimum number of team members is 5. There is no maximum number of team members. Teams with 20 or more members can apply for bulk race bib collection. Team captains are eligible for free entry if they recruit 10 or more entrants to join their team. These 10 or more entrants must be registered prior to the captain to receive a free entry.

    Please contact to organise the bulk race bib collection prior to the 18 August 2024. This is to allow enough time for our team to organise and collate the team’s race bibs together. Without confirmation, your race bibs will not be collated, and all members will need to collect individually.

  • Can team members participate in different events within the Sydney Marathon? 

    Yes, team members are able to select whichever of the four distances is suitable for them and still be registered within the same team. 

  • Is there a discount for team entries? 

    FREE** entry is granted to team captains of teams with 10 or more members (please contact us when 10 entrants have registered in your team – the team captain will be given a unique code to register).  

    **Team Captains must contact us prior to processing their registration to redeem a free entry. No refund will be provided if the team captain has already processed payment for their registration.  

  • Can someone be transferred to a team if they have already registered? 

    Yes, please email with the participant’s confirmation number and name, and the name of the team they want to be added to. You may be required to provide their D.O.B to ensure we move the correct person.

  • How do I login as Team Captain and check who is in my team? 

    Download the event team guide linked above for instructions. See pages 8 – 10.

  • Is there the opportunity for race day team/ corporate hospitality area/marquee? 

    If you would like further information on hosting an area/marquee for your team, please email for more details.

    Please note that space is extremely limited in the Recovery Village, and we cannot guarantee that a space will be available for your group. Please be aware that these are ‘private’ marquees for your company and cannot be used commercially. This is due to the contractual agreements of the Sydney Marathon official sponsors who have purchased exclusive rights in the Recovery Village.

    Corporate marquees for 2024 have not been confirmed.
